Community AIDS Resource, Inc., d.b.a. / CARE RESOURCE is a 501[c](3) non-profit, multi-cultural, community based AIDS service organization rooted from the 1998 merger of Health Crisis Network (1983) and Community Research Initiative (1989). Care Resource is now South Florida?s oldest and largest HIV/AIDS service organization serving over 7,000 clients and a true leader in the community. Since the beginning of the AIDS epidemic in South Florida and for 25 years, Care Resource has been dedicated to serving those suffering with or affected by HIV/AIDS and to meeting the changing demographics of the epidemic. The former Health Crisis Network (HCN), founded in 1983 by a group of dedicated volunteers, focused on providing a response to the epidemic with crisis intervention, social support and educational programs. Community Research Initiative (CRI), founded in 1989 pioneered the implementation of community-based clinical trials through its network of physicians across Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Virtually all of the popular anti-retroviral drugs widely used today have been studied by the agency through its clinical research program.

Changing the traditional dates and venue of Art Miami 2007 has repositioned the fair as the second most important art event in Miami during the first week of December. More than 100 leading national and international galleries participated in the 2007 fair, which attracted more than 20,000 attendees. The opening night of Art Miami strategically took place prior to other fairs and was attended by important international collectors, art enthusiasts and museum professionals?all under the watchful eye of the faithful local collector base that Art Miami has established over the past 18 years.

In 2005, Ambra Medda and Amy Lau saw the opportunity to create a nexus for the far-flung global community of cutting-edge design dealers, collectors, creatives, curators, and critics. They envisioned a new commercial and cultural forum that would capture the thriving general interest in design and elevate appreciation for limited-edition, experimental and historically significant design work, presented within an energetic, visually striking environment. No other design fair had ever attempted such a feat.
